Proving reliability often depends on performing tests.

What initially started out as analysis and physical test comparisons has grown into two additional aspects of Stream-Lion Design’s business (Vibration Testing and Test Equipment Sales).

Besides performing Modal Testing Services, we’ve also developed specialized vibration testing kits now being used in the Power Generation Industry.  These kits specifically address measurements of Stator Vane vibration and damping characteristics important for assessing combustion turbine operational risks.  Please contact us directly for more on our test equipment sales.

Our Modal Testing services is often a great alternative to Finite Element Analysis.  By using signal analyzers along with the EDM Modal software (made by Crystal Instruments), we’re able to determine hardware vibration characteristics using roving impact/response tests.  These services are offered in-house or at the customer’s site.

Stream-Lion Design also offers physical vibration testing services.  Our tests are performed on Sentek’s Electro-Dynamic Shaker Systems and help clients demonstrate hardware performance during dynamic loadings.

The following image shows a turbo engine stator vane being prepared for shaker table testing.  This test was developed to determine how fatigue cracks can be detected using the parts vibration characteristics.
